1 – The best book you’ve read so far in 2017
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. I listened to the first two with my audible subscription and if you read/listened to ACOMAF then you know–you KNOW–why I flipped out in my car at the end.
2 – Your favorite sequel of the year
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco. I actually got to meet her at BookCon this year and she’s soooo nice! I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper and I’m excited to see how this one get tackled since Dracula is fictional and Jack was not–maybe she’ll tie into Vlad, who knows.
3 – A new release that you haven’t read but really want to
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. I really want to read it. Like the heading says, but I keep putting it off because–well I’m hesitant because of the hype. Not one person has said anything bad about it. I’m afraid that I will read it and not like something and miss the whole message and I really don’t want to do that. Also I’ve been told there are many feels to be had. And the last time someone told me that and I listened it was The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and I cried like baby in the middle of the night and scared my mother.
4 – Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
Little Monsters by Kara Thomas. Maybe not my most anticipated but definitely anticipated. I got to review The Darkest Corners about a year back and I really enjoyed Thomas’s set up.
5 – Your biggest disappointment
BookCon 2017. No really. It felt under-booked, getting into booths was a nightmare. The only way to get ARCs was to hope that you made it past the line-based ticketing process and that – once again – no one cut in front of you which by the way is a HUGE problem at BookCon. They cannot have big authors on the show floor and the autographing area should not be near the show floor. Security and staff need to get on the same page and stop screwing with the lines. Amazingly, lines that were left alone, took care of themselves and lines that security touched got all turned around.
6 – Biggest surprise of the year
None so far!
7 – Favourite new to you or debut author
Joelle Charboneau. I believe she is new to me.
8 – Your new fictional crush
None yet this year.
9 – New favourite character
10 – A book that made you cry
ALL OF THE COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES SERIES!
11 – A comic book that made you happy
I actually haven’t read any comics/graphic novels yet this year, but I’m hoping to delve into Wires and Nerves.
12 – Your favourite book to movie adaptation that you’ve seen this year
WONDER WOMAN. Hands down. Wonder Woman. I cried. I cried so many times. Gal Godot is amazing. OMG We’ve literally been waiting for Godot.
13 – Favourite book post you’ve done this year
My favorite book related post I’ve ever done was actually at RoundRobinWrites.com (which is no longer live-so sad). It was a Red Queen post inspired by the Olympics. I had a lot of fun picking out events for each of the characters.
14 – The most beautiful book you have bought/received this year
The most beautiful book is definitely a tie between The Thousandth Floor (which is a terrible book) and Dividing Eden (which is a good book). The covers are both gorgeous.
15 – What are some books you need to read by the end of the year
I definitely want to read The Hate U Give, and Claudi Grey’s Firebird series.
If you’re reading this-consider yourself tagged. Copy and paste this and let everyone see your mid-year freakout!
Sorry that Bookcon was such a disappointment!! With big crowds like that and so many people waiting in lines it’s bound to be a mess at times. There’s little to no communication at those things making it hard for those who attend!

Oh no really?! I was hoping to make it to a con at some point but when people come back with stories like this I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Maybe some day when one is really close to me….. if that ever happens lol

Wonder Woman was so amazing! Her thigh jiggles on screen Jackie! Actually moves like a normal thigh! And when she goes into No Man’s Land I cried. I cried so hard because Wonder Woman is just so amazingly in her zone.
